The Blistering Heat Made Us Tired
On Thursday September 30th, my group and I went out to begin the filming for our commercial. One of our group members was not able to make it today so we had to adapt out filming and swap out one of our group members in one scene for another. We had to then make sure everyone in the group knew what we were doing since we had one less person. After assigning new positions, we had to make sure it confirmed what we had on our storyboard. We had to get outside quickly to the senior patio to film so we could film all of our scenes in time before lunch started and we were not able to film any longer. Once we made it to the senior patio, we began to get into our positions and I was the main actor in all of the scenes. We then went to set up props and make sure the area was cleaned and ready for filming. We began to film every scene one by one starting with the first scene. We took multiple takes of each scene to make sure we were happy with the quality of each one. After each scene was completed our group made sure it matched with what our storyboard had. We did not have that many issues besides the school bell ringing which caused us to retake some of the scenes we have filmed. Another issue we ran into was people walking or riding a golf cart into our scene or people talking in the background that caused us to need to re shoot that scene. I was the main actor in all of the scenes so the camera man and I were making sure that I was in the right position and reviewing everything that I needed to do. He let me know where I needed to move and what I needed to do so the shot came our right with good lighting. We filmed for about 55 minutes to set up, film, and do retakes. Due to this we were not able to gather all of the clips we needed. We believe that we would have had enough time to make our commercial if we were able to use all of the time we had to film and not use it for setting up, taking down, and filming. After we ran out of the time we had for filming we went back to the classroom and began to speak about ways that we could improve on the clips that we filmed today. Then after that we spoke about what can we do the next day we film. We then finished the day off by discussing what type of editing styles we will use with each shot to make sure it not only matches our storyboard but to make sure it went well with the overall design of our commercial.
