Starting to Put the Entire Thing Together
Today we started to film our music video. I was so excited to begin filming because that was my favorite part of the commercial that I filmed previously. We decided to film the scenes by location to make it easiest for us to get it done in a timely manner. I began by getting together all of our props and putting them it the right locations for our scenes. I had to substitute a prop when the item was broken and not able to be put on camera so I used a paddle to support it. After that, I changed my clothes into something that would go well with the theme of our song that is more upbeat and outgoing. After that my partner filmed while I was acting in the shots. After filming some of our scenes, I then cleaned up our props and made our filming area how it was before we set up everything. I then decided to grab extra props that we did not originally think of for the rest of the scenes that I felt would be beneficial to the music video. Then we all headed to our next location to start filming other scenes there. After we arrived there I started to grab our props and decided to start setting them up. After I set up the props for some of the other scenes, many more people arrived at our filming location of the park and we noticed that it was too much noise and distraction to be able to film. I then decided to take all of our props down and head back to the car. In the car we talked about what we could do to better maximize the next filming day we have because a lot more work was needed due to not being able to film today. I felt more stressed as the other days we wanted to film the weather did not look the best. Not filming added a lot of stress to our next day of filming so I felt it was important to plan that entire day out. After we planned the next day of filming we went back to review the clips that were already shot that day and decided which ones may have needed to be filmed again and which ones were ready for edit. I gave my input on the shots and felt that they were all ready for editing because we took multiple takes of each shot so I felt that we had some good takes and some takes that did not needed to be used. I then asked my partner which days would be best to continue filming and we then planned our next day for filming. I then gave input on what we will do the next fill-in day to stop a situation like this from occurring again and that plan I hope goes well when we film next.
