Beginning to Piece it all Together

Image
Today I began to put my film together by editing. Today, I focused on making sure what editing software I will be using and to get comfortable with using it. I have used a couple different editing softwares in the past and I wanted to choose which one I am going to use for this film. My top two choices was iMovie from Apple or Premier Pro from Adobe. I have used both of these platforms before multiple times and have found they are both good at different aspects. So, I took a 20 second clip of my film and put it into each of the platforms to see how each works again to get me failiarized with each platform. I took the 20 second clip, shortened it, added some audio, and put some titles in it. As I continued to do this, I was becoming more familiarized with both platforms and eahc showed off their strong suites. I decided the best choice was to play into the strong suites of each of the platforms that I had available to me. I found iMovie was better for inserting audio and inserting titi

Finishing Up Filming

Image
Today was the last day I planned to film the rest of what I needed to make my film complete. As I did for the previous days of filming I made sure that everyone was available to film. Once that was done we all met up at the local park where we filmed all of the shots as we previously did. We all agreed we should memorize our lines for each scene the day before so we all made sure to do that and then we all put the props up in their respective locations. After doing that, we got to filming. While filming, we did not have the flight path issue that we did the other days. This is because the weather caused delays for planes but it was clear and great for us to film in. We then went and filmed the scenes that we needed the audio to be good for quickly before the flight path becasme an interruption because we did not know if it was going to start again or not. We had to film multiple takes of every scene because we never got it correct on the first few takes. So, we got those shots done so

Continuing On The Film

Today was the day I continued to film. Today I wanted to film all of the shots that involved driving the cars as those would be the most tricky shots to film I felt. They would involve the area being quiet as well as having to be able to have a large space that was empty so other objects, people, or nature could not get in the way of the film. I decided going back to the location of the local park was the best idea as it kept it uniform with the other parts of the film. So, we went back to the park and began to film the scenes of driving. The driving shots needed to be re-done as I felt the cars needed to be close together but not close to the point where they were too close to each other. This made it so that it took a few takes for the final shot to be done to my standards. We then also ran into the issue of the planes flying over which made us retake a few shots until I realized this is where music will be inserted in the final film so it did not matter what the audio was. Today ca

Beginning to Film

Image
Today was the day I was actually able to begin to film. After not being able to film before due to weather conditions I was able to begin filming. I did the same thing as I did the day previously and I went to pick up all of the people that are going to be in the film. This time I gathered all of the props beforehand. We then all headed off to the filming location together just as before. Thankfully the weather was working well with us and it was not an issue we had to deal with. But, as we got to the filming location we ran into another issue. Due to the rise of tourists from spring break in my area, the parking lot I wanted to film in was very busy. This made it not possible for us to film at this location. Thankfully I had a backup plan which came in handy as that is now the main location for the film. The backup location was a grassy field at a nearby park which we headed over to. Thankfully once we got to that location it was dead empty and a great spot to film. At first, the loc

Our Oddball Day to Filming

Image
Today was the first day that I planned to film. It started off according to plan where I met the people that I would be filming with at their house to pick them up and get ready to film. We then headed back to my house to gather all of the supplies needed for the film. I then checked the weather forcast and saw that it was supposed to rain in two hours. Which gave us just enough time to start filming at one of the locations. I thougth we would have time and then it would start raining and it would all be okay. But, as we headed to the filming location it started to rain super badly. But, because of where I live you can usually wait 15 minutes and it will go away. But, today it was not showing any signs of slowing down and it qctually got worse. So, after sometime waiting at the filming location and seeing it begin to flood we had to decide what to do. Some said we should just wait it out some more and some decided that we shoul leave. So, we decided to then leave and go home. When we g

Jam Out to Those Tunes

For this film, I felt music was an essential taste to my film. Music I feel is an important role in my everyday life as it can change someone's entire mood as well as make them more focused on a topic at hand. It can change someone's entire mood by creating a vibe that can bring people together to make everything better for someone. For this reason, I feel it is important to implement it correctly into the film to make sure it can get the viewer's attention as well as use that attention to create a vibe or theme the viewer will want to continue watching. This I felt would be a great way to bring my film to the next level. I had a vast amount of music choices at my disposal for the film as many different songs could be used to create the theme or vibe that I wanted for the film. To get music for the film I needed to get access from a producer to be able to use their music to not get a copyright claim against it. As this film was not for profit, I felt it would be easier to b
