The Start of a New Chapter


Hi there, my name is Aaron Shaffer and I am a student at Fort Lauderdale High School. I am 16 years old and in my third year of high school. Over the years, through the opportunities I have been able to receive, I have been able to achieve a lot academically. One of those achievements was being able to be a part of the Cambridge program at Fort Lauderdale High School which has allowed me to take multiple college level classes that are allowing me to receive credits, scholarships, and more that I would not have been able to receive otherwise. A little bit about my backstory is that I was born in Fort Lauderdale and have spent all of my life here. I find it a great place to live and enjoy the things that it allows me to do. Having access to so many different activities has allowed me to have many memories made with my friends. Things such as going on jet skis, boats, water skiing and more are things that I could not do in many other places year-round. When I am not out on the waters, some things that I like to do with friends are going for drives, going shopping, or going to concerts or sporting events. When I am not able to be with my friends, I spend most of my time watching streaming services, going for drives, or working out at the gym. Somethings that I like to do when I have a lot of free time is travel. Even if it means doing road trips far away, or flying to new places, I always like to travel. I have traveled to many places all over the United States and internationally with close friends and family. During these times I've met new people that are my friends and have made tons of memories with my family. Some memories that I have made with friends are going to Jingle Ball and other concerts. I make sure to put forward my best effort in activities that I do to get the best out of life. I feel that the effort you put into life is the same effort you will get back from it. I have one dog that I have had for many years and his name is Bengie. Bengie has traveled with me to many of the places that I have been and has been there for many big aspects of my life. He has such a huge meaning to me and I am so glad he's my dog. For my life after finishing my education, I want to pursue a career in finance. Finance is a massive aspect of everyone's life and I find the topic intriguing. Knowing it is something that is such a huge aspect and that it is not taught in schools has made me more intrigued by it because it has made me o my own research on it and from that, I became very interested in it.

Our Oddball Day to Filming

Today was the first day that I planned to film. It started off according to plan where I met the people that I would be filming with at their house to pick them up and get ready to film. We then headed back to my house to gather all of the supplies needed for the film. I then checked the weather forcast and saw that it was supposed to rain in two hours. Which gave us just enough time to start filming at one of the locations. I thougth we would have time and then it would start raining and it would all be okay. But, as we headed to the filming location it started to rain super badly. But, because of where I live you can usually wait 15 minutes and it will go away. But, today it was not showing any signs of slowing down and it qctually got worse. So, after sometime waiting at the filming location and seeing it begin to flood we had to decide what to do.
