My Pitch

Pitch A:

  • Friends go for a drive, one of their cars breaks down, and one of them takes the opportunity to convince the other about electric cars. 
  • I would be interested in pitch A for many reasons. One reason that I would be interested in it is that I like cars a lot so it would be something I would be able to understand the topic easily. I would also be able to bring different approaches to it with many different perspectives from the multiple people that would be in it. I would also be able to show how the future will be because climate change has shown how we will need to have electric vehicles for the future. Showing this to the viewer could give them some useful information about climate change and what it has done. I could also show this from many points of view where someone could show it from an economic perspective as well as showing it as a social way where it is more ethical to do this and more. Finally, this pitch allows me to expand the topic throughout the topic of climate change which could allow my opening to connect to a movie. 

Pitch B:

  • Friends play football, one person lands wrong and breaks a knee, they end up taking care of him.
  • I would be interested in this choice because it allows me to do something that I am interested in. I like to watch football and that allows me to be able to bring some aspects to the film that would bring a sense of realism to it. Some issues with it are that I do not have the most details about it because I do not play football in real life I only watch it on streaming services and live television. Due to that, it may not be a good representation of how someone may play football. I also have no idea what to do in the medical field besides do bandages which I would need to do way more to make it seem realistic for the film. Having no background knowledge may not be that big of an issue because I will have the opportunity to do research and find what is best for the film but having no background knowledge has me worried that even after gathering research I will not let it be the best that I can let it be. Overall, I can bring some great aspects from this into the film from my current knowledge and research that I will get. 

Overall, I feel that the best pitch for me is pitch A (Friends go for a drive, one of their cars breaks down, and one of them takes the opportunity to convince the other about electric cars.) because I have more background knowledge at the moment. I feel I would be able to make a better product for the viewer because I have a better grasp of the information and I feel that I will feel more confident and how that will come across on camera.

Today was the first day that I planned to film. It started off according to plan where I met the people that I would be filming with at their house to pick them up and get ready to film. We then headed back to my house to gather all of the supplies needed for the film. I then checked the weather forcast and saw that it was supposed to rain in two hours. Hi there, my name is Aaron Shaffer and I am a student at Fort Lauderdale High School. I am 16 years old and in my third year of high school. Over the years, through the opportunities I have been able to receive, I have been able to achieve a lot academically.
