Genre Research: Adventure

 Common Camera Angles:

  • An establishing shot usually sets the tone of a scene for the viewer to easily understand what is going on.
  • Tracking shots are used when an actor is being followed when walking, running, or driving.
  • A wide shot is common to show an actor and the surrounding area that they are in.
  • A close-up could be used when an actor has a serious tone for that scene to show how they are focused and determined.
Mis-En-Scene:
  • Common costumes are superhero costumes for some movies and business suits for business people to normal casual clothes for everyday events.
  • Common lighting is cinematic lighting or diffusing light throughout scenes to show an actor's decision.
  • Common Actors are usually used over and over again throughout the genre because they are common.
  • Make-up is commonly used to give actors to look a specific way or to look better for the camera
  • Props are used to signal something to the actor or are used to help them throughout the film.
Editing:
  • Jump cuts and shot/reverse/shot are all used when actors are having conversations as well as going from one location to another.
Example films:
  • Marvel Eternals
  • Free Guy
  • Jumanji
  • Rava the Last Dragon
Some parts of the genre that I like and that I would use are the common camera angles such as the establishing shot. As well as the types of props and costumes used I feel I would be able to use them well throughout my film.

Some parts of the genre that did not appeal to me were the common types of editing are used. Jump cuts are very common I feel so being able to differentiate myself somehow would be great in my opinion.
